Over the weekend the Environment Agency informed us that they had received approximately 11 reports of odour during the course of Saturday night (23/6/18). We also received one call to our residents’ helpline on Sunday. The odour however was not picked up on site and has not been detectable since, which presents a challenge in terms of identifying the point of source on the site. All the seals and gas extraction infrastructure have been checked and we will continue to closely monitor the situation.
We would urge any residents detecting an odour to call us direct on our dedicated helpline – 07961 403 782. This will enable us to respond as quickly as possible and trace the potential source of any issue.
In the new cell we are making good progress with the engineered clay liner ahead of the installation of a flexible membrane. We expect to start accepting waste into the new cell in the autumn, subject to validation by the Environment Agency.
