Work has progressed well on the development of the new cell area (see photo below) and we expect this to be complete within the next 10 – 12 weeks.

Elsewhere on the site we are planning works to cap an area of approximately 9,000 m2 from the centre of the site heading towards the eastern boundary. We will also be installing a series of deep gas wells in this area to further improve our landfill gas extraction and optimise the sustainable energy that we are able to produce as a result. At the north end of the site we have reached final restoration height and will be seeding this area to grass in the coming weeks.

We are currently accepting around 500 tonnes of waste in to the site each week and we expect inputs to gradually increase over the next few months

Whilst levels have remained within normal parameters we continue to monitor odour both on and off site.

We would urge any residents wishing to report a problem to call us direct on our dedicated helpline – 07961 403 782. This will enable us to respond and rectify any issue as quickly as possible and trace the potential source of any issue.
